Tata Punch EV Arrives in Kathmandu Ahead of NADA Auto Show 2024 Launch

The eagerly anticipated Tata Punch EV has arrived in the capital. While Tata Motors Nepal has not yet revealed the possible launch details, it is expected that the Punch EV, similar to the Tiago EV, will be launched at the upcoming NADA Auto Show 2024.

The Punch EV is built upon Tata Motors' new Gen 2 Acti.EV architecture (pronounced ‘active’). This new EV-specific architecture will also underpin a lineup of upcoming Tata EVs and SUVs, including the Curvv EV, Sierra EV, and Harrier EV.

Regarding the powertrain, the Punch EV will likely be offered in two battery pack options - Standard Range and Long Range. The former gets a 25 kWh battery pack to generate 60 kW of power and 114 Nm of torque, while the latter features a 35 kWh battery pack to produce 90 kW of power and 190 Nm of torque.

The Long Range variant can accelerate from 0 to 100kph in under 9.5 seconds, while the standard model achieves this in 13.5 seconds. In terms of range, the standard variant is claimed to have a range of up to 315km while the long-range variant will deliver a range of up to 421 km, as per MIDC (under standard testing conditions).

In terms of features, the Punch EV boasts a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 360-degree surround-view camera, ventilated front seats, wireless charging, and a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system powered by Harman.

It also includes an air purifier, single-pane sunroof, cruise control, wireless mobile connectivity, and six airbags as standard in all variants. The Punch EV has also received a 5-star safety rating under Bharat-NCAP.

The Punch EV offers a water-wading capacity of 350mm and an unladen ground clearance of 190mm.
